Three-dimensional structure of human renin.
A three-dimensional model of human renin has been constructed based on the assumption that the overall folding of the aspartyl proteases is very similar. As a reference, we used penicillopepsin, the structure of which has been reported at a resolution of 1.8 A, and its main chain was traced to build a model of renin. The resulting structure seems to be stable from the hydrophobic and hydrophili...
متن کاملStructure of the N-terminal domain of human FKBP52.
FKBP52 is a member of the FK506-binding protein family (FKBPs). The N-terminal domain of FKBP52 (FKBP52-N; residues 1-140) is responsible for peptidyl-prolyl isomerase activity and binding of FK506. Here, the crystal structure of FKBP52-N has been determined by molecular replacement to 2.4 A. FKBP52-N is defined by a six-stranded antiparallel beta-sheet wrapping with a right-handed twist around...
متن کاملThermoelastic Interaction in a Three-Dimensional Layered Sandwich Structure
The present article investigates the thermoelastic interaction in a three-dimensional homogeneous and isotropic sandwich structure using the dual-phase-lag (DPL) model of generalized thermoelasticity. The incorporated resulting non-dimensional coupled equations are applied to a specific problem in which a sandwich layer of unidentical homogeneous and isotropic substances is subjected to time-de...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Structure of the Human Myeloma IgG2
Human immunoglobulin G, subclass 2 (hIgG2), plays an important role in immunity to bacterial pathogens and in numerous pathological conditions. However, there is a lack of information regarding the three-dimensional (3D) structure of the hIgG2 molecule. We used electron microscopy (EM), differential scanning microcalorimetry (DSC) and fluorescence for structural analysis of the hIgG2. DSC and f...
متن کاملThree-dimensional structure of the human vestibular nuclear complex.
We used computer techniques to reconstruct in three dimensions 12 vestibular nuclear complexes (VNC) from serially sectioned brains of 7 patients. Specimens were from 4 patients with vestibular disorders and 3 patients considered vestibular normal. Despite the variety of the patient's otologic histories all the nuclei demonstrated the same shape and structural characteristics.
